With offices in Vancouver and San Francisco, LimeSpot is a leading provider in eCommerce personalization technology. They combine retail and behavioral data to create unique, targeted and high performing shopping experiences.
LimeSpot powers more than 10,000 online stores globally.
LimeSpot was developed on the .NET Framework and was selected to be a participant in the now-discontinued Microsoft BizSpark program. This helped kick-start the business in a number of ways, including providing them with a significant amount of free (sponsored) Microsoft Azure credits to deploy and manage their offerings in the cloud.
Once the sponsorship credits expired, LimeSpot moved to pay-as-you-go and began to look for cost optimization opportunities with their cloud spend. They contacted Microsoft directly to discuss their options, looking specifically at Windows and SQL licensing, and were introduced to the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program and told about the benefits of working with a partner.
Working with the right partner would not only provide them with the required licences, but provide them with an opportunity to review other optimization opportunities for their business.
The BlueSilverShift team was among the partners LimeSpot was referred to, and the request was for a quote to move from pay-as-you-go to CSP for their Windows and SQL Server licencing.
BlueSilverShift not only provided them with a quote for the licenses, our approach enabled us to do it in a way that allowed our team to learn about their business in the process. We spoke to them about a multitude of optimization and cost saving strategies on Azure and began building a relationship with the LimeSpot team.
The migration to CSP was seamless for LimeSpot and was done at no charge to them. This, combined with the recommendations on best practices that LimeSpot should adopt earned us their trust, and ultimately helped us win their business.
Yes, we were able to save them a significant amount of money each month on their Azure consumption and licensing by implementing our recommendations, but more importantly we were able to begin building a long-term plan and real partnership.
By migrating their licences from pay-as-you-go to Azure CSP with BlueSilverShift, LimeSpot is already saving approximately 20% on their monthly Azure consumption.
